St. John’s School is a unique school that changes lives. It was established in 2014 to provide a quality English education in a very rural and poor area of Andhra Pradesh, India (southern India). Many of the families lack basic services, including a decent (if any) education. St. John’s is bringing transformation, hope and future opportunities to the students who attend, as well as, their families and their communities.
All children are welcome at St. John’s regardless of gender, religions, social or financial status. It provides a safe and loving environment that focuses on the growth and development of the whole child. All students are loved, respected and treated equally.
St. John’s opened in June 2014 with 36 students (8 girls), in two grades (preK and Kindergarten) serving 6 villages. Each year a grade was added until the school was completed last year (2024-25) with the addition of the 10th grade. The first class graduated in April 2025 and all the grads are continuing their education!
St. John’s started its 12th academic year in June 2025 with 501 students (162 girls), from 19 villages in grades preK – 10th. The students are thriving as a result of the hard work and dedication of the 37 staff members and are the school’s best advertisement.
