The Summer Leadership Institute (SLI) is a nine-week paid internship designed to give students vocational ministry training and experience in the local church.
The Intern Experience
Hands-on Experience
Throughout the summer you will be empowered to use your spiritual gifts as you serve the Lord and explore your calling.
Ministry Training
Learn from our incredible team of staff and volunteers as you develop your ministry gifts through mentorship, classes, and your intern cohort time.
Vibrant Community
Serve alongside 8-10 other interns while you build lasting relationships as a part of our multi-generational church family.
Spiritual Formation
Grow deeper in your relationship with Jesus during this dynamic season of discipleship, ministry training, and personal development.
Intern Positions
As an intern you will serve in one of the following ministries.
Children's
Children’s Ministry interns will help plan, prepare, and lead events for children and families including Sunday School, camps, and special events.
Middle School
Middle School interns will help plan, lead, and participate in Sunday and Wednesday youth programming, special events, and relational ministry.
High School
High School interns will help plan teachings, games, and programming for Sunday and Wednesday programming in addition to special events.
College
College interns will help plan and lead college small group meetings and special events and trips throughout the summer.Â
Worship
Worship interns will help the Worship Pastor and Worship Director prepare for weekly worship as well as facilitate worship in ministries throughout the church.
Video Production
Video Production interns will help plan, shoot, and edit video projects for use in church-wide ministry.

What are the dates for SLI 2024?
June 10-August 9 (late start available if needed for school schedule)
Is the internship paid?
Yes! The salary is $18.50/hour.
Will I work full-time or part-time?
All positions are full-time.
Do I need to find my own housing?
Interns requiring housing will be placed with a host family.
When is the application deadline?
Applications are processed on a rolling basis and will close once positions are filled. Final deadline for summer 2024 is April 1.
Are there any trips that I will go on?
Yes, there are two camping trips for the summer. One 2-day beach camping trip near Santa Cruz for the intern team and one 6-day church-wide camping trip at Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort near Mt. Shasta.
