In the middle of a book of warning and lamentation comes one of the most powerful promises in the Bible. God promises his people an experience of presence and unity with him that will completely transform their lives and communities. As we explore this offer, we will see a new experience with God offered to everyone who desires it.
The Lord, through the prophet Joel, tells us to “return to me with all your heart” and to “rend your hearts and not your garments.” So, that’s what we will do, while embracing the prophet’s promise of a glorious future, when “the mountains shall drip with sweet wine, and the hills shall flow with milk.”
