CloseAfter hearing from Job's three friends for over 20 chapters, we are ready for a new voice. In this section, we meet Elihu, who claims to have a fresh perspective on Job's suffering. While his assessment of Job is helpful, he too presents a faulty picture of God. Through his words, we realize that asking about the purpose of pain might be the wrong question. Does God really cause our suffering? Or is it more complicated than that?
